Searching for new opportunities can be exciting — and stressful. That's why we want to help you better understand how the hiring process works at Valley. We've broken the process down into steps.  This will help you understand what you have to do to apply for a position and give you some tips to help you prepare for your interview.

  • Searching for Opportunities
    • Step 1: Begin by clicking "View All Jobs"
    • Step 2: Review the results. You can use region, position type, category, and keywords, to refine your results.
    • Step 3: Review the Job Information and Job Descriptions and click “Apply for this Position” when you find a position that is a good fit for your skills and background.
    • Step 4: Create or access your account to apply. Your profile is your work experience and can include your resume, work history, and education. Your account will also allow you to view previous applications and reuse your application and resume for future positions. You must have a valid email address to create a profile and submit an application.
    • Step 5: Click “Submit” once you entered or updated your work experience and resume. To be considered for employment, all applications must be received through this site.


    Next Steps

    The recruiter will review your qualifications along with all the other applicant’s qualifications.

  • Matching Candidates to Jobs

    Application Review

    If your qualifications are a best match for that position, we will contact you to discuss your background and/or schedule an interview. You will be notified by e-mail if you did not qualify or if the position was filled or cancelled.

  • Pre-employment Screening

    A recruiter will contact you to discuss your work experience by phone or an in person interview. This conversation is also an opportunity for you to ask questions about job requirements, location, work environment or other information that is important to you.

    Next Steps

    You may be asked to interview with a hiring manager or other associate. This process could take up to a couple of weeks. In the event that there is another candidate that is a better fit for the position, you will receive an email letting you know that you are no longer being considered for the position.

  • Preparing for an Interview

    If you are asked to move forward in the process, a recruiter will contact you to schedule a phone or face-to-face interview.

    To prepare:

    • Make sure your resume is up to date.
    • Know your strengths.
    • Be prepared with specific examples that demonstrate your ability to succeed in the job.
    • Be familiar with the area of business for which you are interviewing.
  • After the Interview

    The recruiter will contact you with updates and let you know if there are additional next steps.

    All employment offers are contingent upon passing Valley’s pre-employment checks that includes:

    • Verification of employment history
    • Credit History Check
    • Criminal Background Checks
    • Drug Screening
