Valley National Bank Provides Grant To Junior Achievement Of New Jersey

WAYNE, N.J. - Thursday, January 19, 2017 - In mid-November, Valley National Bank provided a $10,000 grant to Junior Achievement of New Jersey (JANJ) to help fund their financial education programs for the 2017 school year. JANJ’s mission is to inspire and prepare young people in grades K-12 to succeed in a global economy through real world relationships with business, government and education partners that can help them develop their employability and financial literacy.

Most students who participate in JANJ Programs live and attend schools in economically challenged urban communities: 85% live in households with total income less than 50% of the area median income; 15% live in households with total incomes between 50-80% of the area median income.

This grant will empower hundreds of New Jersey students, putting them on a path to future financial security. Valley National Bank employees continue to volunteer at the JA BizTown and JA Finance Park as well as other financial literacy programs.
