WAYNE, N.J. – Monday, December 16, 2019  People at a tableValley convened Housing Authority leaders and community partners to learn more about collaborative efforts to implement practical and cost-effective solutions for improving indoor air quality. The event was hosted on December 5th by the Housing Authority for the City of Elizabeth (HACE), the site for Bank sponsored STEM workshops facilitated by the Rutgers Center for Green Building this summer. These workshops had campers assemble indoor air quality measurement devices as part of the Bayway Summer Enrichment Program for resident children ages 7-12 years. The campers also learned about and used air quality flags. The event concluded with a tour of the HACE facility, where two sets of flags were also installed this summer using the United States Environmental Protection Agency Air Quality Flag Program.

“Adding this component to our Summer Enrichment Program made it 100% better,” Opal A Montes, Site Director, Bayway Family Success Center
“This opened my eyes professionally and personally,” Housing Authority leader

Valley is happy to have been a part of facilitating such a great learning program and happy to see the great effect these workshops have had on the community.
