Valley Bank Announces the Promotion of Yvonne Surowiec to Senior Executive Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer

WAYNE, NJ – February 24, 2020 – Valley National Bank, the wholly-owned subsidiary of Valley National Bancorp (NYSE:VLY), is pleased to announce the promotion of Yvonne Surowiec to Senior Executive Vice President,  Chief Human Resources Officer.
 
Surowiec joined Valley in 2017 and brings more than 30 years of experience as a human capital strategist with expertise in partnering with leadership to develop innovative talent solutions that drive business outcomes, implementing incentive mechanisms and enabling the desired culture to support the strategic growth of the organization.  Prior to joining the bank, she held the position of CHRO for CDK Global, where she built a successful talent brand and culture that supported the strategic growth of the organization. 
 
Over the past two years at Valley, Yvonne’s experience and passion has helped the Bank develop a strategic focus on Valley’s employee experience by providing greater transparency, enhancing mobility and flexibility, improving Benefit offerings, introducing volunteer hours in support of community efforts, laying the foundation for talent and succession planning, rolling out our performance acceleration framework, enhancing Valley’s training programs and recruiting key talent. Additionally, Yvonne’s contribution to developing and executing on Valley’s longer-term strategic vision has been immeasurable.

Surowiec holds a bachelor’s degree and MBA from Seton Hall University.  She holds certifications as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) and Certified Benefits Professional (CBP).
