Answers to questions you may have

  • Why are both banks joining together?

We feel that this merger is a natural fit between two community-focused banks that share similar cultures, values and missions. Both banks strive to offer customers exceptional personal service, plus customized solutions, local decision-making and a strong commitment to the communities we serve.

  • Do I need to do anything differently right now?

Not at all. Keep enjoying Banking Made Personal®.

    • Continue using your same accounts, debit card, existing checks and credit card.

    • Access online banking at thewestchesterbank.com with your same user ID.

    • Continue banking at any branch of The Westchester Bank.

    • Make your loan payments as usual.

    • Call the same contact numbers.

  • What are the differences between Valley and The Westchester Bank?

While both banks share similar cultures and values, as a bank with over $42 billion in assets and more than 200 branch locations, Valley brings additional resources and capabilities to your existing banking relationship.

As a Valley customer, you’ll have access to enhanced technologies, an additional suite of commercial and consumer services and more convenient access to bank, however, wherever and whenever you want.

  • When will the integration be complete?

Over the next couple of months, we will be working to bring our two banking systems together. In early 2022, your current accounts and services will become similar accounts and services at Valley. We will provide information along the way, so you know just what to expect when we begin to serve you under the Valley name.

  • Will my accounts continue to be FDIC insured?

Yes, your accounts will continue to be insured for up to the $250,000 deposit limit for a single bank. If you have accounts at both The Westchester Bank and Valley Bank, your accounts will continue to be insured separately for six months following the completion of our merger on December 1, 2021.
