  • How do I make a request for information and error notices?

    If you believe that there is an error regarding your loan or you would like to request information on your loan, you must send your error notice or information request to Valley National Bank to the attention of the appropriate department as follows:

  • What is Telephone Banking and how do I use it?

    Telephone Banking is a simple way to bank with Valley by calling 1-800-522-4100. When you call, just press the prompt for “24/7 phone banking” to hear your balances, transfer funds, make loan payments and more. To use Banking by Phone, you’ll first need to fill out and submit our Telephone Banking enrollment form.  

    If you’ve already activated Telephone Banking and have forgotten your PIN, please call customer care at  1-800-522-4100

  • How do I change my address?

    You can change your address by submitting a change of address request document. Your document must be signed and include your name, account number, old address and new address. One of the safest ways to send us this signed document is by secure email through your personal online banking account. If you’re not enrolled in personal online banking, you can also send your request by:

  • How do I close an account?

    If you need to close your account, you can visit any of our convenient branch locations or email a signed request to contactus@valley.com. Your request will be forwarded to the originating branch to close the account. 

  • Where do I overnight my loan payoff or regular loan payment?

    You can overnight a regular loan payment or even you loan payoff to us at any time. Please see below for where you should send your payment.

  • What fees will be charged when I use my debit card while traveling abroad?

    There are certain fees associated with international debit card transactions. If you’re traveling abroad, please keep in mind the following fees: 

    • 3% international service fee. This is assessed of all international transactions, regardless of whether there is currently a conversion associated with the transaction. 

    • $5 international ATM fee.  

    • $3 point-of-sale transactions fee. This fee is applied to debit card transactions where you use your Personal Identification Number (PIN) to authorize the transaction. 

    Before traveling, it’s always good to call our Customer Care Team at 800-522-4100 to notify us of your travel plans and ensure that you will have access to debit card usage in the country you’re traveling to. For calls made from outside of the U.S. and Canada, please call 973-305-8800. You can use your Valley mobile app debit card management tool for travel notifications. 

  • How can I stop payment on a check?

    The fastest way to stop a check is by using Personal Online banking or the Valley mobile banking app. For Personal Online Banking you will find the "Stop Payment" feature in Additional Services, or if you prefer the mobile app it'll be under the "More" tab. Then all you have to do is enter the Check Number, Amount, Checking Account Paid From, and the Payee Name, and hit submit. 

    You can also request a stop payment on a check written from your checkbook by calling our Customer Care Team at 1-800-522-4100 and selecting option 2, or by visiting any of our branches.

    If the payment was made using Valley’s Online Banking Bill Payment service, please contact the Personal Online Banking Department directly at 1-800-522-4100 extension 3012, between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM (Eastern Time). For calls made from outside of the U.S. and Canada, please call 973-305-8800. 

  • How can I change my PIN on my debit card?

    The easiest way to change your debit card PIN is through the Valley mobile app or through telephone banking. To change your PIN this way, you'll need to have your current PIN available.   You can access telephone banking by calling 800-522-4100 and selecting option 1.

    If you do not have your PIN available or don't remember it, the only way to change your PIN is by visiting us at branches.  You can also us at 1-800-522-4100 option 2 to request the PIN for your Debit Card to be mailed to you.
